The story behind it
Why it looks like this
Ines drew this from the dunes near her aunt’s house, at the hour when the sea goes from blue to silver. The marram grass on the right is the part everyone leaves until last.
Start with the sun and the sea line, then work the three dune bands. The halftone dots on the dark dune are a trap. They look alike, and they aren’t.
